By now everybody should have seen the nifty gmail user interface which (I’m sorry to say) beats even standalone mail-clients like thunderbird in terms of ease of use.
The two things I like the most are
- Collapsed quotes, removes a lot of noise from email discussions, as long as there are people out there who still full-quote, this is worth gold
- Thread view, shows all mails from one discussion one one page
The first feature is available for thunderbird, too, if you install the QuoteCollapse extension. But there’s still no extension which gives me a gmail-like thread view for a discussion. I’m sad to say, that I don’t know how to program mozilla extension, so I hope there are other developers out there who will write such an extension. I’m sure, a lot of users would be grateful!
